Q: Buick Regal?
Was the Regal the sportiest model in Buick’s lineup or was it the Riviera or even the Reatta (Don’t hate! Buick did have sport-like cars)
A: I like the style of the Reatta 2 door better, but they are hard to find.

A: Get a notarised statement from the seller to take to DMV. You need a clear title before it can be registered in your name.

A: They are a great car. They have one of the most powerful and reliable engines around,(3.8liter) and they also have a wide body stance making them great on the road no matter what is on it, such as water snow and ice. This car has great consumer repair reports and with the car beign a GM car, the part are easy to find in the event that a repair need to be made. This engine has also been in service a long time making it’s parts cheaper also. if he like performance, I beleive they also have a supercharged model!!! Great selection! good luck
Q: 1999 Buick Regal GS requires premium gas. Can I use a lower octane and supplement with Octane boost?
I just bought a 1999 Buick Regal GS, which is supercharged. It requires premium unleaded gas. I was curious if I could buy 87 or 89 octane and add a bottle of octane boost. This might be cheaper considering the price of gas these days. Any thoughts?
A: Octanes are suggested for optimal engine performance. You should use what it calls for to maintain a healthy motor.
“Many high-performance engines are designed to operate with a high maximum compression and thus need a high quality (high energy) fuel usually associated with high octane numbers and thus demand high-octane premium gasoline.
The power output of an engine depends on the energy content of its fuel, and this bears no simple relationship to the octane rating. A common understanding that may apply in only limited circumstances amongst petrol consumers is that adding a higher octane fuel to a vehicle’s engine will increase its performance and/or lessen its fuel consumption; this may be false under most conditions — while engines perform best when using fuel with the octane rating for which they were designed and any increase in performance by using a fuel with a different octane rating is minimal or even imaginary, unless there are carbon hotspots, fuel injector clogging or other conditions that may cause a lean situation that can cause knocking that are more common in high mileage vehicles, which would cause modern cars to retard timing thus leading to a loss of both responsiveness and fuel economy. This also does not apply to turbocharged vehicles, which may be allowed to run greater advance in certain circumstances due to external temperatures.”
Q: Where is the starter relay located on a 1996 buick regal?
I have an intermittant starting issue on a Buick Regal. I checked for power at the starter solenoid when the key was in crank, but no dice. Most vehicles have a starter relay that is energised by the key which in turn energised the starter solenoid. Does anyone know where this may be located? I can’t find it.
A: on all the gm vehicles i have ever seen, they do not use a relay to control starter activity. instead they use a solenoid which is very similar in function but quite the same shape. the solenoid is located on the starter it self. if you fallow the positive wire all the way down to the starter you will find that the wire is bolted to the solenoid.
Q: How can I fix a locked ignition in a 2002 buick regal?
I pulled the keys out of my friends 2002 buick regal, and now the ignition won’t turn. The ignition was in the “ON” (not start postion and car not running) postion when the keys were removed.
A: you will need to change the ignition lock cylinder. This could be difficult if cylinder will not turn because you may have to turn it to release the holding pin you could try another key or WD-40 Also use care around air bag.
Q: How do I fix the blinker in my 93 buick regal?
I have a 93 buick regal. A few months back the blinker stopped blinking. I checked and replaced any bulbs that were bad, but it didn’t fix the problem. I also changed the fuse. Now it will occasionally blink, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, and then sometimes it just comes on but doesn’t blink. Is there another mechanism that controls this? And if so, how would I go about replacing it? Thanks!
A: I would start with the flasher unit under the dash. After that it sounds like you need the turn signal switch in the steering column.
Q: Where can I find a Diagram for a 1992 Buick Regal Gran Sport Heater Core?
I am trying to replace a heater core in my Buick Regal Gran Sport. I need a diagram to show me how.
A: First of all let me comend you on your taste in cars….a regal GS is an awesome car……..as for the question at hand…..I would stop by your local parts store and purchase a “haynes” or “chilton” brand repair manual……both will usually give step-by-step instructions as well as exploded views for your make and model!!!
Q: Does running an 98 buick regal without the super charger cause engine damage?
I looked at an 98 buick regal with 150000 miles on it. The super charger needs replacing (found refurb oem for $1100 online, i have a mechanic for the labor). Car is being sold for 1500. Replacing a supercharger from a dealer is about $3000. I just want to know if there is any damage being done to engine or transmission because the car is being ran without a supercharger.
A: I’m assuming you mean a Turbocharger, in which case it shouldn’t hurt anything, just run like a dog. A car with a Supercharger (Rootes blower or Paxton type) wouldn’t be likely to even start up.
Q: What can we do with the ceiling of our 1986 buick regal?
Our gpa recently gave me and my cousins a 1986 buick regal to practice driving in, but the ceiling of the roof is like rotted out.. Should we just take it out? Is there something we can replace it with? thanks for the help!
A: Remove the headliner with its fiber board panel. Remove all the headliner material and scrub off any remaining foam particles from the fiberboard, I used 3m scrubbing pads.
JO-Ann fabrics carries headliner material. Buy 4 cans of automotive spray glue. Spray the fiber board and the back of the new headliner material. Use two coats of glue.
Make sure you pre fit the new material. Trim the excess after gluing
Q: How do I open a locked door on a 1988 buick regal?
I locked my keys in my buick regal, is there any way for me to get in the car without going to a locksmith?
A: Only if you have an extra key or a slim jim set handy. You may be able to call a GM dealer with the VIN and still get a key cut. I don’t remember how far back they go but it’s worth a shot.
Q: How to remove the back seat bench and the backrest on a 1998 Buick Regal?
I want to know how remove the backseat bench and the backrest on a 1998 Buick Regal, so i can get to the seat belts. Can some one please help me?
A: Push against the upper front edge of the lower seat cushion, down and towards the back at the same time. This may take some effort, especially if it hasn’t been out in a while. Brace yourself and position yourself to get some leverage. Once it moves back an inch or two, lift up and then forward.
Once you have that out, there are a pair of bolts into the floorpan holding the backrest in, but you should be able to access the seatbelts without taking that out. If you do still want to take it out, after removing the bolts, you need to slide the backrest up an an inch or two, then you can pull it forward and out.
You may have to maneuver past and/or remove some armrests and/or window cranks to fully remove the backrest. While you have it off, check the back side of the backrest. There may be a “buildsheet” stuck between the springs and the cushioning material.
Q: What is behind the rear license plate of a 1982 buick regal?
Long, long ago I owned a 1982 Buick Regal. I was reminiscing about the car with a friend and we both seem to remember the rear license plate flipping down. Are we losing it or is there something back there?
A: the license plate flipped down to reveal the gas cap.

Q: Need help locating blower motor resistor for a 98 buick regal?
Blower Motor replaced but will only work on high no other settings work. My buddy thinks it may be the blower motor resistor. We are unable to locate this. This is a 1998 Buick Regal.
A: One of two places-under the hood on the passenger side near the firewall. It will have 4 wires going to it and it is usually bolted with 2 small screws into the blower motor housing.
Or under the passenger dash panel. Same configuration.
Largest guage wire will be purple.
