Q: how much does a 2002 Chevrolet camaro SS hatchback cost ?
I wan toget a 2002 chevrolet camaro hatchback in good shape,good milage, 4 or 5 seater, and all that other stuff.

A: alright, first off,this is a question you should research yourself. second, camaros don’t come in 5 seaters bud. and what is so special about a 2002? 2001’s are just as good, so are 2000’s and 1999’s (98’s have electrical problems).

It hasn’t been started in about 6 years, it has set in our cold damp garage for 8 years. its not even been touched since i started it last in 2004. What is everything i need to do to get it out on the road?

A: If it was mine, I would just check the oil and coolant to make sure it’s all full. Check out everything else like the air cleaner, master cylinder and power steering is full. Put a new battery in it, and fire it up! If it ran when ya parked it, it will run again. It wont run great until you mix some fresh gas in, but it will run! Then after you get it running, you can change all the fluids and filters, probably some new tires! If the brake pedal still feels good, just drive it , see how they feel after driving foe awhile.

A: find one first. lots of money and time . parts are nearly impossible to find.. l have 1967 Chev.ELCAMINO been working on it for 10 yrs. still not done have put 8000. in it so far. just a 350. ,396 HARD to find. have to modify a lot of parts. had to over buy a car kit.

A: Your best bet is to buy the SS camaro and modify it like the one there. You’ll need deep pockets, though. Have fun and good luck.

How I actually found MY project car is through networking. I’m really into the car scene and know lots of car people… and just by word of mouth from one mechanic to another, I found my baby.

A: A good friend of mine had a 2001 Camaro SS with a Six Speed manual, a cat back exhaust, an intake, and a tune. His car was a pretty consistant 13.2. I figure a stocker would run 13.4 or so.

A: The Ford Shelby is more expensive than the Camaro if they have one in the lot to sell you. The Shelby will cost you around $50,000 and the camaro around $30K +.

I’ve been looking and comparing all the new pony cars and saw that Hennessey built the HPE550 Camaro. Motor Trend compares this car to the Camaro Z28 that is still in production and I had thought that in past years the Camaro SS was superior to the Z28. If someone could clear up this confusion I was appreciate it.

A: Yes, from 1997 to 2002, the SS was top dog! But back when the 1968 Camaro Z/28 was first introduced, it was king. And that’s what Chevy is going back to.

So, when Chevy brings out the new Z/28 (arriving late 2011 as a 2012 from initial reports), it is reported to have a supercharged LSA V-8 tuned to 556 HP & 551 pound feet of torque!!

So the Z/28 will be king of the hill once again, as long as Chevy goes through with it.

Okay here’s the deal. I personally think BMW M5 is a superior car compared to the Camaro. But I want to know why Camaro fans love this car so much, besides it was in Transformers. New the Camaro SS costs roughly 40 Thousand. Used the M5 costs 40 thousand. I know the stats, BMW has it hands down. I want to know why you guys love the Camaro so much. A: If it is about stoplight to stoplight between you in your M5 and me in my 2000 Z28 I’ll take you everytime. The fit and finish isn’t going to be the same, the BMW isn’t going to be designed to impress a person like you too much. They both carry their stigma, the Camaro represents youth, fun, American style, and nostalgia. It is an absolute blast to drive, and the fit and finish of the 2010 Camaro is quite impressive, maybe as good as the BMW, they went all out on this one. The BMW is built for someone that feels they have the image of responsibility, a certain stature, success, and other things. They are both cars, both can be taken from you in a millisecond. It is simply property, but if I were to choose, I would definetely pick the Camaro, and leave the BMW to the man who most likely is wearing his spare tire, doesn’t really know how to have fun. I can be proud knowing I bought an American car, and lately the American car is good enough for me, they aren’t what they used to be. I didn’t send all that money to another country. Even if you buy the BMW used you are still supporting someone else in another country. Keep our cash here.

A: thats awesome your looking into performance, the LS1 motor is awesome.. I would recommend AFR 205 heads (built), LS6 intake manifold, headers and full exhaust.. that should put you in the low 11s or high 10s.. i don’t recommend nitrous as it’s only a temporary fix.. more information and i could give you complete build specifications whether or not i get best answer it doesn’t matter.. i build LS/vortec motors purely for fun.. actually i would love an email it’s fun to build motors and i would love to help you build your ls1 into a 10 second car just email me for more info
