I have a 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe 6 cylinder 3 Speed in good condition. I just got the floor, ceiling, and drivers seat redone.

Q: What is considered good mileage for a 2001 Ford Mustang Coupe?
I’m looking for a nice used car and I found a 2001 Ford Mustang Coupe in my area that is in my price range. One problem – its mileage. I want to know what range is a good mileage. So my question is what is considered good mileage for this car?

Thanks for you help.

A: anything under 84,000 miles is good mileage as 12,000 a year is considered average mileage.

Q: What should I ask for a 302 long block automatic 1966 Ford Mustang V8 coupe needing to be restored?
I’m looking at a 1966 Ford Mustang coupe. It is an automatic transmission, and should be a 302 long block V8 engine.

All parts should be original, but I am not positive.

I was originally told it was a 289, but now he says it has a 302 long block engine with about 175k miles on it.

It is a California car, so there shouldn’t be any rust, although I have not inspected it. It apparently has not been run in about 20 years. I was told that an electrical problem prevented it from starting, and it’s just been in storage since then.

The engine and transmission SHOULD be functional but I can’t be sure that everything works properly. It will likely need a completely new interior, and windshields, the engine probably needs to be rebuilt, and everything drained, since it’s full of 20 year old gas. The dash is supposedly shattered from a rock through the back windshield.

It does not have AC, and has been repainted a pale yellow color long ago, over the gray…

I know nothing about these cars.
Just to clarify, I am looking into buying this car and not selling it.

This is a follow up on another question I asked yesterday.

Like I said, I don’t really know much about these mustangs, so I may have said incorrect things, but I did my best.

Anything helps, thank you!!
I have not been able to acquire the VIN yet, so can someone tell me what it is worth by what I described?

~~~ UPDATE
——————————-
The VIN number, or whatever it is on these older cars is 6r07c186121 , so the engine is type C meaning its a V8 200hp?
Heres what I found from it:
Year: 6 1966
Plant: R San Jose, CA
Body Series:072 Door Hardtop
Engine: C289 2v V8
Unit: 186121 186121
I said the engine is a 302 long block, but I don’t think that is an actual engine, like I said I don’t know what what I’m talking about. The owner stated that engine pieces were replaced by newer 302 long block parts – hopefully I’m making sense…
A: [Revised]
Plus options would be V8, C code 200 hp, A code 225 hp, K code 271 hp HiPerformance motor, automatic transmission, 4 speed manual, AC, PS, PB, Disc Brakes, GT package, Pony interior, Console, Bench front seat, Rally Pac, Vinyl top, Luggage or ski rack
Minus would be the
High mileage and 20 years of storage means lots of work. You will need to completely clean and or replace the fuel system, tank lines, pump and carb.
The brakes will need the same thing, so you are looking at a lot of money.
Prices start out at $2500 for running examples that need work and have some rust, to $15k for a restored one with some options.
This would put yours at less than $2000, without seeing it, I would say offer him $1250, it’s going to need a lot of work to just get it running and then a slow process to restore it. Good luck with it..
The first number in the vin code is the year, the last letter is the engine code, these can be found on a plate on drivers door and on the top of the fender drivers side.
Q: Would a 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe be a good first car for a 16 year old?
I am 16 and I really want a 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe. It is my dream car. I found one for cheap and I really want to get it, but I’m not sure if it would be a good choice as my first car. So, help? [=
When I said it was cheap, I meant it as that it isn’t as much as most 1967’s would be.
And I understand that it would most likely take some fixing up. I am all for that.
A: I would have to say that it is probably not a good idea. The biggest problem you will have is reliability. Older cars were never as reliable as they are now, and being 42 years old is only going to make that worse. A classic Mustang that is “cheap” is going to cost you in the long run.
Get something a little more modern for your 1st car. There are plenty of years left to own Mustangs, and when you have more money you will be able to afford one that is in good condition.
Q: can a 427 fit into a 67 ford mustang coupe?
I have a 1967 ford mustang coupe. its got a 302 engine in it right now but it has nooo power. I want to put a 427 windsor in it but dont know if it will fit.
A: A 427 Windsor is just a stroked 351, so it will fit right in. In 67 Ford widened the Mustang to accommodate the 390, which is much larger than the 351. You could even drop in a 427 or 428 FE motor if you want.
The link shows a 67 Mustang with a 351 Windsor in it. You have tons of space.
Q: Is the 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback doors the same as those of a 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe?
I have a 1968 Fastback and I need doors and a guy has a Coupe and I was going to buy his doors for my Fastback. He won’t let me try them first. If you can please help me I would truly appreciate it. Thanks! Have a nice day!
A: yes they fit its the same car the only difference is the sloped bak
Q: How reliable is a Ford Mustang V6 coupe?
Hello, I’m looking into getting a Ford Mustang V6 coupe, but i wanted to know if it is a reliable car for an everyday driver. Any input would be helpful.
forgot to add that im looking at V6 models from 2000 up until now.
A: V6 Mustangs are awesome cars. Of course they require regular maintenance like any car, but I have a 2004 V6 coupe with well over 150k on it and I have no issues with it. They make great daily drivers but snow/ice are a concern because they are rear-wheel drive cars and there isn’t much weight in the back – so this is a consideration if you live in an area that gets snow in the winter. Here in the northeast we definitely get our fair share of snow and ice and I’ve found a good set of all-season tires and a few sand bags to weigh down the back of the car makes my Mustang driveable in almost any weather.
Q: Would seats from a 1973 ford maverick grabber fit in a 1972 ford mustang coupe?
I am trying to rebuild my mustang into a nice show car but i need the front and back seats, i just came across some 1973 frod maverick grabber seats on the internet and i wanted to know if they would fit my mustang, specially the back seats
A: try mustangsunlimited.com they have seats for it
Q: I own a 1965 Ford Mustang coupe restored does anyone know how the heater works on one of these cars?
I cant see to be able to get the heater to work and I am wondering if I might not have hooked it up right but it worked before can anyone help me?
A: It’s a continuous loop and the heat is controlled by a door opened by the cable..
is there hot water flowing through the heater hoses? if not, they could be blocked in the core or someone left out the thermostat… it needs a 180 degree thermostat for the heater to work..
Q: Is it possible to install head rests in the back seats of a 2002 Ford Mustang Coupe?
I’m concerned about the safety of passengers in the back seat. If it’s possible, where can you buy them from? Would it be hard to install yourself?
A: In the rear seats …. Can’t think of another car you could ‘borrow’ from … and my first thought is that they will block your rear vision, which I think is a law, so you can’t just put a pillow back there…. I can’t think of anything constructive you could do… sorry .. have you sat back there to see if they’re really necessary ???
Q: What do you think of a 2005 Ford Mustang coupe w/ 46k miles, auto, cloth seats, and premium sound for $12k?
It rides nice the engine makes a little idle noise not much though and it’s from a lg dealership.
A: I think its too much. Book says $10K max. They aren’t selling well as they don’t get great mileage. You should be able to do better. I also highly recommend having a shop check it out before you make any offer.
Q: My car is a 1997 Ford Mustang Coupe 3.8 V6 with a broken open door sensor. How do I fix this?
The sensor that detects whether my driver side door is open has fallen apart. It now thinks that my door is ALWAYS open and dings whenever the keys are in the ignition. Is there a way to fix this? A quick wire to snip, perhaps?
A: All that sensor is going to do is ground the signal to the ECU letting the computer know that the door has been shut. If you ground the sensor at the body, it will assume the door is always shut.
I suggest taking it to a Ford Technician and having them check it out to make sure that is indeed the problem with the sensor.
Hope this helps, Good luck!
Q: 1968 ford mustang coupe and 1969 plymouth satellite sport?
how much Horse power does a 68 mustang coupe (302)have?and
how much horse power does a 1969 plymouth satellite sport(318) have ?
WHICH car is overall better and why?
A: 1969 plymouth 318 2 barrel 230 horsepower with 9.2 compresion
Q: Is a 1995 Ford mustang coupe a good car?
Its only got 30,000 miles on it. I’m just wondering if its a good car. maybe about gas mileage and what not?
I also need to know what kind of tires work well with them?
A: Any car with that low of miles that is 14 years old must be a gem of a car. Is that the correct mileage? What size engine, transmission and driving habits determine fuel mileage… Mustangs in general are simple to work on and parts abundance..
Q: Will it be worth to trade my 1978 Chevy Camaro for a 1971 ford mustang coupe?
my 1971 camaro has interior is done but the outside is not painted, doors and windows don’t work, dash is kind of mess up but runs great. The owner of the 1971 mustang is willing to do the interior before trading, door windows and dash are in place but car doesn’t start. is it worth it???? and also what is each car worth when fixed up????
A: That is a personal choice. I suggest sitting on the idea after you have gone through all the pros and cons what works, what doesn’t and what work would need to be done on both vehicles. After that, you can decide which one will be more beneficial to YOU as the owner.
Hope this Helps, Good Luck!
