Q: What else to enhance the horsepower of a 2000 honda civic ex?
I have a 2000 honda civic ex coupe model. Its a manual transmission. I am trying to enhance the speed. So far, i have a short rim intake(aem brand) & a decent looking exhaust. I want to add headers to it also. What else can i do to it? Also, if anyone can knows of any websites where i can obtain info & get cheap prices. Thanks

A: You probally already know this, but remove any thing you can live without. spare tire, jack, glove box liner.any thing. loosing 100lbs is the same as gaining 10 hp. 10 FREE hp. Good luck.

Q: Okay to compression start 2008 honda civic ex?
I just purchased a new Honda civic EX (2008, 5 speed). With my old car, I always roll-started it down my street (coast to about 20 mph, than pop the clutch in 2nd gear to start the engine.) Would it be okay to do it in my new car. It has a lot more electronics and such, and I want to make sure that a roll/compression start wouldn’t damage anything!

A: replacing a starter is always going to be cheaper than replacing your clutch… think big picture… besides… you bought a quiet car… unless you have some one with super sonic hearing why bother? it isn’t going to hurt the car if it is only done in a pinch…. but you will wear your clutch faster as well as your internals of your trans, as well as add un needed stress to other parts of the car i.e. c.v. shafts.

Q: I have a 97 honda civic ex, can i run the vehicle safely without the o2 sensor in the cat convertor ?

Q: What is the lifespan of a 2002 Honda Civic EX?
What is the lifespan of a 2002 Honda Civic EX (Si model in Canada) if well maintained, following the factory recommended maintenance schedule? I am currently driving it with 175,000 km and would like to know how much longer can it run for? Thanks.

A: Yeah, 300,000 is a good bet. Don’t count on getting there without a few minor and maybe a moderate problem, but with the proper maintenance it should prove to be a dependable car through 300,000

Q: How much should i pay to lease a 2009 Honda Civic EX Manual?
I am looking to lease a black manual honda civic ex in the next couple of months and i was wondering how much i should pay.

I want to lease it for 36 months, $500 down, with 12,000 miles a year.

I know you’re suppose to negotiate the price of the car first, so how much should i look to pay? Do you think i could get it for $250 a month?

A: Not with $500 down.

Right now the special lease program from Honda is $149/mo for the VP with $2699 not including taxes and fees. They also have $189/ mo for the LX with $1999 not including your taxes and fees.

Both of these cars are lower in trim then the EX. You also need to qualify for these programs.

Despite what you may hear a lease is good for certain people not just corporations. Less then 10% of people EVER pay off a car. I like to lease so I can get a new car more often and not being stuck with a car I don’t like. Plus, I don’t not end up like most people that roll negative equity forever on to the next car they get. I see people all the time that did buy and they rolled the negative and now they are needing to get out of that car and are buried so deep they have no choice but to keep the car they don’t want or can’t use due to life changes(kids).

Q: What type of tires should I get for my honda civic ex 2002 coupe?

Thanks alot.

A: cooper cs4 t-rated 80,000 mile warranty.

Q: How much to paint a 95 honda civic ex hood?
I have a 95 honda civic EX with a black matte paint on just the hood. so it doesnt match the rest of the bodies black glossy paint. how much would it cost to repaint it?

A: It depends on how good you want it to look. You can go and have it done at either Earl Shibe or One-day paint for cheap. They can panel paint it, but there is no guarantee of color match. The proper way to have it done would have it painted and blended into the fenders for a good color match. That will run you roughly around $1000 + .

Q: What ecu came with a 1994 honda civic ex?
Trying to figure out what ecu came with the honda civic ex, it’s a D16z6, because one of my friends that I bought the car from might have gave me the wrong ecu, I think I’m suppose to have the P28 but he said he gave me the right ecu.

A: Okay let me break it down for you,

Yes the P28 does come stock in the 92-95 Civic Si (hatchback) or 92-95 Civic Ex (sedan/coupe)

but you need to make sure you get a manual version of the ECU, because there is a automatic P28 as well.

Honda ECU #’s are like this,

37820-P28-A01 (or similar)

Honda’s part number for ECU, which is always 37820.
Three characters (which are loosely related to the model of car/engine). e.g P28.
Three characters (which are the revision of the ECU) e.g. A01 or G52.

Middle 3 Numbers ID which ECU it is.

The last 3 characters are broken down into 3 parts. “A” generally is used for US ECUs. “G” is European, and “J” is Japanese. There are other versions of this, but you get the idea. The second digit “0″ typically means manual transmission, where a “5″ means automatic transmission, and the last digit “1″ is the version number.

so A01 would mean “A” US “0″ manual transmission and “1″ would be the first version of this ECU.

Q: best ways to tune a 1998 honda civic ex?
I have a 1998 honda civic ex, and i was woundering what are some tips to help quicken it up, i already have a cold air intake on it but am not sure what else to do to it.

A: First step is to finish up the breathing… header, cat and exhaust. If you don’t mind a little white knuckle turning in parking lots then bypass the power steering and in the cold season bypass the a/c. If it is an auto then swap out the transmission for manual and when you do that put on a lightweight flywheel and/or clutch. Definitely try to get rid of some weight, it can be free and will improve every aspect of your vehicles performance, and make sure to stay away from large rims because they are heavier unless you spend a lot of money on lightweight ones. You could also do carbon fiber parts, lightweight windows, under drive pulleys, camshaft, im, im gasket, wrap the header, tb, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, engine swap, built head, nos and so on.

Nos is a nice option for extra power at the push of a button, some will tell you it will burn up your engine but guess what… so will your right foot. If you are responsible with nos it can be fine, you could probably get away with a 35 shot safely on stock internals.

Chipping it would be an improvement but you want to do that after you are content with the rest of your mods so that the chip is tuned properly… DON’T BUY OFF EBAY FOR CHIPS, have a reputable shop do it, best option would be to have a knowledgable shop put it on a dyno and tune it right, that will probably earn you about 7 whp. ebay chip = 0-5 whp or maybe even worse than stock if your unlucky.

It all depends on your budget and how fast you wanna go.

Q: how do i use the pc card reader on my 2006 honda civic ex navi?
i have a 2006 honda civic ex with the navigation system. im getting tired of burning so many cd’s and want to use the pc card reader that comes with the navigation. what do i need to use it?

A: I don’t think you can – reading removable media reader needs special drivers, and a standard navigation system cannot do that. Even connecting a USB drive through a standard port is not an automatic thing to work.

Q: What are the best spark plugs and wires for my 1994 Honda civic ex?
I’m going to give my 1994 Honda civic ex 1.6 L v-tec. I was going to give it a tune up be I was wondering what are the best spark plugs and wires to buy for it? Where can I get them? cuz auto zone didnt have any.

A: DENSO IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS. those are the oem spark plugs. ngk wires are good but make sure you get denso spark plugs. they are a little more expensive but well worth it

Q: Is it worth buying a honda civic ex with a repaired title? how much it it priced? will my insurance be higher?
This guy is trying to sell me a 2006 honda civic ex with a repaired title.. im not totally sure what that means. he said he bought the car from a dealer and they fixed the rear trunk of the car.. soo there was no damage to anything in the engine.. how much is the car worth with 27000 miles? and will my insurance accept the car
or with the price of my insurance get high?

tell me how you feel about the car?

A: I’m in Canada (not sure where you are) but here, legally you need to disclose if it’s been in an accident with damage over 2000$. So what it could be is that the car was rear ended or something, and had to have it fixed. You;d need to talk to your insurance company as to whether or not it would change the cost of insurance, I really don’t know. If the car isn’t a rebuild, (totalled in an accident, and then rebuilt) I don’t think that it would. Definitely check though.

As for the car, I drive a 2000 Civic (sedan, not a hatchback) and I absolutely love it. Is it 27000 miles or kilometers? If it’s miles, that seems really high to me (over 43000Km) for a car thats only 2 years old… especially when you figure that under normal driving conditions you only put on about 12000km a year. Maybe find out if it was a commuter car (so it most of the mileage was highway vs in town).

In canada, a car like that would be around the $10 000 mark, (depending on the overall conditions, optrions, etc) but everythings cheaper in the states, so I’m not sure what it would go for there.

good luck!
